Bookkeeping & Controller Services

Books a lender can actually read — and you can actually use

Monthly bookkeeping, catch-up and cleanup, and controller-level reporting on Xero. Run by someone who spends the rest of his week placing loans, and therefore knows exactly which numbers get a file declined.

Three ways businesses start with us

Most clients arrive at one of these three moments. Any of them is a fine place to begin.

Hand off

Ongoing Bookkeeping

You want it off your desk and closed on time every month.

  • Controller-level review
  • Statements you can hand to anyone

Beyond data entry

Recording history is the floor, not the ceiling. Where it gets useful:

26-Week Cash Flow Modeling

Forward-looking cash planning in the formats lenders expect and accept, supported by trailing twelve-month trend analysis.

KPI Reporting

Financial and operational key metrics, so you and your stakeholders can see how the business is actually performing month to month.

Part-Time CFO / COO

The expertise and bandwidth of a senior finance hire, at the fraction of a week most small businesses actually need.

The part most bookkeepers cannot do

We also arrange commercial financing — SBA loans, equipment, A/R, commercial real estate — across a network of 50+ lenders. That changes how we keep books, because we have watched perfectly good businesses get declined over presentation rather than performance.

  1. Underwriters read your statements, not your intentions. Unreconciled accounts and commingled personal spending read as risk, even when the business is profitable.
  2. The same financials, presented two ways, get two answers. We have seen it happen on our own files.
  3. When capital comes up, you are already ready. No scramble, no three-week delay while someone rebuilds a year of books.

To be clear: the bookkeeping stands on its own, and plenty of clients never borrow a dollar. It just means the option stays open.

Common questions

My books are a mess and months behind. Is that a problem?

No — cleanup and catch-up work is routine. We reconcile the backlog, fix the chart of accounts, and get you to a clean starting point before taking over the monthly work. Nobody here is going to make you feel bad about it.

Can you move us from QuickBooks to Xero?

Yes. We are a certified advisor with Xero and also work with QuickBooks Online — which means we will also tell you honestly if staying where you are is the better call. Migration covers data, chart of accounts, bank feeds, and training.

What is the difference between a bookkeeper and a controller?

A bookkeeper records what happened. A controller makes the numbers usable — accurate closes, KPI reporting, cash flow forecasting, and statements that hold up to outside scrutiny. We do both, so you buy only the level the business needs right now.

Why does clean bookkeeping matter for getting a loan?

Lenders decline files they cannot read. Because we place financing as well, we know which presentation problems create doubt and prepare the books so they do not.

Do we have to use you for financing too?

No, and there is no pressure to. The two services are separate engagements.

Who actually does the work?

Michael Weinberg — NTIB's founder, an MBA with decades of experience across insurance, operations, and commercial finance. You are not being handed to a junior processor.

Whether they are current, six months behind, or you are not sure — a short conversation is enough for me to tell you what cleaning it up involves and what it is worth doing first.
